The Icehawks are happy to once again team with the 501st Legion and Lucasfilm to bring the third annual Star Wars Night to Port Huron. This is sure to be one of the biggest nights of the year, with costumed characters from the Star Wars universe, specialty jerseys and discounted tickets for kids and seniors. The night is January 30th, 2010. And we are expecting a large group that night, making this night a potential sell-out (no joke!). The jersey layout for this season is already making its way through some underground channels and is sure to draw interest far beyond our fan base. As you may know, this is my favorite night of the year and we all work hard to put on a good show. Hope to see everyone there, and may the Force be with you! Jake

The jerseys should be in this week (with nameplates). FYI, it was a design decision that led to no nameplates last year, not a timing issue. But we designed them this year with the thought in mind that nameplates would be included.
The live auction will take place following the game and will include the following players (subject to change): Lardner, Bedard, Sterling and Russo. All other players will be auctioned off silently in the Pro Shop. All jersey sales benefit charity.
No other Star Wars jerseys have been produced (outside the player jerseys and the jerseys made for the Star Wars costume group). So this is your only chance to get one.
This game is already sold out thanks to a large group and the place will be packed! Hope everyone has their tickets.

I'd like to know how we sold out a regular season game over 2 weeks in advance, when we cannot even sell-out for a playoff game? I have been watching hockey in PH since the 70s and we have never sold out a game that far in advance. My guess, Mr. Kinnie bought about 1500 tix and dispursed to the local school district, charity for the big Star Wars night or what? ? Something's smelling on the logpile...lol Would have been nice to get tickets, but oh well.....

I know I'll be really upset if there are empty seats when I would have brought a few more people along with me. These better not be free giveaways...

Let's not argue semantics friends. We are sold out thanks to the After School program. They purchased their tickets for all kids involved and their families at the group rate. It's because of them that we are sold out.
If there are any empty seats, it will be current season ticket holders who are not attending that game. We have even proactively contacted sponsors who hold a large number of seats to ensure that their tickets are being used.
Let's be excited that McMorran Arena will be packed! And let's hope that the Icehawks put on a good show for everyone.

Don't get me wrong, I think the After School Program is a great thing, however, had I known that this was planned for that night, I would have bought tickets well in advance, as I had planned on participating in the jersey auction, as I usually do. Also, I saw no mention or advertisement of this (ASP) promotion anywhere, thus, did not pick up tix early. Sounds like a behind-the-scenes thing to me. Nice to do this for the kiddies, but alot of your "core" fans such as myself will not be attending. Nice. Geez, might have to go to Flint for some hockey...

i had to double check i had tickets...
i got the 10 game flex pack back the first of october primarily so i could have the same seats every game i attend...
should have doubled up on them since ive been to 5 or 6 'extra' games so far! i think im going to end up making it to close to 20 home games this year...
i certainly hope that theres not many empty seats. id love to be elbow to elbow with someone. well not really but i do like to see support for the team...

There is one way to avoid this TopShelf, it's called SEASON TICKETS. The Icehawks shouldn't have to go through the process of letting people know the ticket situation, they have enough to do as it is. As Jake mentioned, they PURCHASED there tickets at the group rate so throwing stones at Kinney was a litte unnecessary. I heard they may be opening up some Standing Room Only seats.

I had SEASON TICKETS for the 1st 6 years of the return of hockey in PH, then started getting bumped around to working afternoons and midnights, and gave them up. Currently laid-off, and have attended every game since. I didn't say the Icehawks HAD to do anything, just a little promotion and advertising would be nice, so fans could have planned better. As far as throwing stones, wasn't far off really. Same end result.

This has been on the promotion schedule since before the season started. Star Wars night has been on that all year, this wasn't planned last minute. You probably should have bought your tickets ahead of time knowing when this was going to happen.
