Liambus played for Bloomington for a bit last year. Pretty much a fighter that lays Huge hits. Well last night he caught a guy near the boards not looking and totally smashed his face and fractured his skull. What do you guys think? Was it a dirty hit? I mean he was gonna lay that hit no matter what and we always want guys to hit and hit hard it was just unfortunate the kid turned his face into the boards.

Looked like a good, clean hit. Too bad the guy was injured so severly, but hockey's a violent game.

he got a boarding penalty which i don't agree with and a match penalty. I could see a charging penalty but not boarding.

btw its liambas not bus, my mistake.
I would take this kid on the Icehawks any day of the week over Bray. Liambas can play and is a tough dude. Also, as you can see the kid can lay a hit better then anyone right now. They have videos on youtube of him just checking people.
I hope this one hit doesn't ruin his career.

if bray is going to be our "tough guy" we're going to have problems if we ever have a fiasco like muskegon/ft wayne the other night

if bray is going to be our "tough guy" we're going to have problems if we ever have a fiasco like muskegon/ft wayne the other night I think we'll be fine as long as the other team doesn't have at least 2 heavies. Sure, Bray will get whooped against Big Snake or MacMillan or whoever the other team's heavyweight is. But, beyond that, Cowan, Kostadine, Hansen, Selleke, maybe even Patrosso now and to a lesser extent Vern, Tetrault, Maccarone would all handle themselves fine against the second and third wave assults a team may be able to put out there. In other words, Big Snake might beat the crap out of Bray, but I think Cowie or Kostadine would be just fine against Lawmaster or Stayzer or Butram or Schreck or DiPansy or any of them. I will agree with you that I'd like to see us with a more dominating heavyweight, though.

I like Bray to a point because he drops the gloves with anyone. He isn't like Snowball who just fights heavyweights. But Bray isn't a very good fighter I'm starting to notice but I rather see someone get beat up then no fights at all. Hell if Liambas does get booted from the OHL I would love him here.

Yeah, that's because I think Snowy knew he would destroy any "non-heavyweghts" and he was always way too level headed and fair-minded to go that beserk. As far as Bray, he really should only fight middleweights, but will drop them with any heavyweight out there. That's why I don't think you can compare Bray and Snowy. Bray will drop them with anyone, but Snowy was a much better fighter.....and he knew he was, so he didn't take advantage of fighters he knew he would destroy and possibly even injure. I'd really like to see us get another guy like Rory - someone that will go nuts and will hold also his own with any fighter out there.

With Parker being released, you think the Hawks should sign him? I'd like him in the lineup against guys like MacMillan and Big Snake, but I have to believe the pending suspensions for those two is at least part of the reason Flint doesn't need Parker right now.

He leaves himself open so much in fights as well someone will catch him with a punch and put him to sleep soon enough.
