in no way did want to blame the 3rd period on the officiating because i agree there was a wide open slot most of the 20 minutes but there were some pretty lame calls...
i was sitting with one of the players girlfriend and she wondered where the icehawks, she saw in the first couple of periods, went and i didnt think they really paid that much attention to the games...
lets look at the upside. were only 1 point behind fort wayne now although they play dayton tonight...

The problem with the refs in this league is that they all suck, no doubts about it. You go into a game where Langdon, Shuhy, Hawthorn and Rutheford are reffing and expect a I'm calling nothing or if I do, it's going to be a hooking or some other ticky tacky call. I talked with Stuckey about the refs in this league and asked him who the best ref in this league was and he said "they all suck." but he pointed out who he thought had done the best job was Luxmore but we haven't seen him since before Christmas.

Can't use offiating as an excuse (not saying anyone is), they're bad for both teams. It's just the way it is, you have to accept that calls will be blown both ways. Yes, we've seen some hideous calls over the past few games, but nothing that really would or should have changed the outcome of the game.

Very true, when the reffing does suck both ways, it's up to the teams to make the best of it and make things work in their favor. It was definitely obvious that in the third period last night, we fell asleep and almost sunk the ship. 60 minutes is all we ask for each game. 60 minutes of hard played hockey. We all know the guys can do it as they have shown us time and time again. It's time to keep it up and generate some momentum as we move closer to the playoffs.
