Debate on the team and games is fine. However, computerjunkie, don't you work for the team somehow? Do you really think it's appropriate for you then to belittle fellow PH fans for their lack of knowledge in your eyes? Do you also think it's right for you to call all Fort Wayne fans "trash"? That trash sold 2 sections in the arena last night. Would the team owners really prefer not to have that revenue??
Get real. As was already stated, all teams have their idiot fans. We have them, they're not hard to find. Maybe Fort Wayne has more of them, but then they have more fans overall. If I'm Kinney I'm glad a few hundred visiting fans want to come to my building and help fill some seats. As a "staff member" or whatever you are, you really need to project a more positive image for the team. Consistently coming on here and berating people I would hope isn't consistent with how the Icehawks expect their representatives to act.

We got lucky with Hodgman. Remember Konstantine Shafronov? He went to play in the Hockey World Cup thingy for his home country, Kazakhstan, about a week before the season ended. He also announced that this last season would be his last in Fort Wayne, and he was going to retire and live in Kazakhstan. All season we've kept tabs on Hodgman because we've known ever since last summer that Shaffy was gonna leave. Hodgeman told us that anytime we needed him, just give him a call and he'll be in Fort Wayne within a day or 2. Shaffy retired, so we needed another player. Enter Hodgman. No foul play, he just kinda fell into our lap. On a side note, the IHL commisioner talked on the radio in the Komets broadcast booth between the 2nd and 3rd periods yesterday. He was absolutly steamed. Flat out said that they need to get new refs, the refs we have right now are just plain bad, and this summer he will be looking into getting new, better refs. That should help everyone. Alright that answers my questions on Hodgman. I can see where you can have a player who creates a good relationship with past coaches and teams and offers support when it's needed. Sounds legit. Shafronov was a good player as well. Sorry to hear he won't be back after this season. He plays very well. We had the same feeling when Russo left to go play in the World's Tourney too, unfortunately we didn't have a true go to guy for a goaltender to bring in like you guys had with Hodgeman. Hopefully there will be better refs. Then again, I've heard it before, and it hasn't gotten much better, but that's the thing with refs, They have their own way of calling a game, where we have our own way of calling it. Just don't bring back Gallagher. haha

No crying here over Hodgman. It's the way minor hockey is, like it or not. You ended up with Hodgman late, we got D'Orso lol. Officiating has been terrible in the CoHL/UHL/IHL for years. Again, it's the way minor league hockey is. You just expect bad calls to happen. If the officials were better, they'd be higher up the ladder just like the players would be. I didn't think Hoberg did too bad last night. I don't think too many officials make that hooking call with less than 30 seconds left in regulation of a tied playoff game, so I don't think it's fair to blast him for letting that one go even if it indirectly led to the Komets winning goal.

The only ref I recognize by name is Langdon. Who was Gallagher?
And back in 07 we won game 6 on a controversial call. I didn't get to listen to that game, and it was before I followed message boards. What happened there?

As a "staff member" or whatever you are, you really need to project a more positive image for the team. Consistently coming on here and berating people I would hope isn't consistent with how the Icehawks expect their representatives to act. As I've said many times before and once again My statements are not in reflection of the team, it's owners and staff. I didn't choose to have my account labeled as the B2 that was done by the admin back when I first joined this board when the Flags were around. But I never asked to remove it because I don't feel the need to hide behind a computer screen when I post my remarks. Everyone knows who I am and I'm fine with that. I work in the Video Production Field, you have to have thick skin to make it in that line of work. I speak from my self and of myself as a fan. If you ever spend time up in the booth with Me and Nauder and Jim, they can tell you that I have my share of pissing and moaning as well, not just at the reffing, but also at our performance on the ice. I've said before I'm a bit of an optimist, but no one seems to share the same optimism I have for this team. I look at the glass as half full rather than half emtpy, I look for the greener side of the pasture rather than the dead grass. That's just how I look at things. Yet I'm accused of being a management fan boy. Sorry that I'm not a 24 hour sour puss and live my life in a pool of negativity. And again my posts get picked apart and reassembled to fit others. I had said Ft. Wayne Fans can be A-holes and it's true. I didn't say all of them, and didn't give a specific number of them, I just said "They can be a-holes." This is from experience because I've been to Fort Wayne and have witnessed and was targeted by many of them by trash throwing and other obscenities. I'm sorry for the fans they have that aren't like that. Yes each team has their idiots. Muskegon, I have to say is worse than Ft. Waynes. again I say this from experience. I applaud those fans and any teams fans who make a long trip out to support their team. They most certainly out did our home crowd. The newspaper said an estimated 500 fans from Ft. Wayne attended the game last night. The game sheet says there 1700 + people in attendance. Since there is no definite number of how many Ft. Wayne Fans were there, let's just say that almost half of our usual attendance were from Ft. Wayne. That's pretty sad. I do applaud our crowd though for showing that even in small numbers we can still be louder than any other group of fans. That's always been something I have been impressed with in this town since I began working in Minor hockey 5 seasons ago and also from what I remembered during the BC era. I don't come on here to berate anyone. It's a message board. As I said before, if you are gonna post an opinion which you have the right to, don't get pissy if it sparks a debate. If you can't handle a little debate, then don't say anything. I've seen some real doozies posted on here and some of it is just a waste of time to even respond to, but then again what's a message board if nothing is being posted. Don't berate me because I'm not everyone's yes man. Whether I work for the team or not, My views and opinions would not be any different.

What happened there? You are one of the lucky one's who didn't have to witness his awful work. Basically Langdon replaced him as worst ref in the league.

..............and this is how pro hockey in Port Huron dies - not with a bang, but with a whimper. Hats off to Fort Wayne, they won lst night fair and square. All I could think of after the game was "I've probably just watched the last pro game in Port Huron." To watch Fort Wayne players - Boucher and Rodger, specifically - then go about making obscene comments to PH fans, just made me realize how low these people are. I have no problem with the players that went over to the FW fan section to rally their fans up and I certainly must say it's nice to see so many FW fans make the trip - 90% of them are more than welcome. That said (and remember my thoughts about this being the last pro game in PH), it sure was nice to see such a classy act of a group of FW fans (insert sarcasm here) ripping on PH fans. I heard one in particular say something to the effect to one fan that his team losing is his fault and he was a loser too, because if he was smart he would get out of PH and then he would have a better team and area to live. Of course, this clown's language wasn't quite as nice as what I've posted here. When he was responded to, the guy then went on to smack is ass and act like he was mooning people, showing his true 5th grade IQ. I'm sorry, but that's pathetic. I've travelled to many places to watch games of teams that I'm a fan of and could never imagine acting like such a clown. Think of that situation, we may have just lost the last game we'll ever see in our town and we've got fools ripping on our city (which, BTW, has a MUCH higher avg. attendance PER CAPITA, than FW), and our lives......over a hockey league 3 steps below the NHL. Priceless. and forget trying to make it OK because you had so many people there. Trust me, as a Red Wings fan, I can speak to games I've attended in Anaheim, Phoenix, LA, Chicago, Nashville and Columbus where the Wings had a higher percentage of the crowd than FW had last night. Did that make me act like a complete jackass and rip on the fans of the other team and their city? No. I would never act like such a child. I just wish the 90% of the FW fans I would welcome into my city any time would turn and push these people out, rather than supporting them. I can tell you many times when I've shunned an "allie" fan for similar behavior to an opposing teams fans.

1) Port Huron has had their chances. They've had many more 5 on 3 chances than Fort Wayne has. Port Huron has a killer powerplay and they certainly could have capitalized on their chances last night, especially. They had 6 more power play chances than Fort Wayne and three 5 on 3 chances, one back to back.
2) Port Huron could have signed a player like Hodgman but they didn't, that is their fault plain and simple. If Port Huron had lost Bedard, wouldn't you think they would sign someone similiar? There wasn't a rule in place that a player had to play 6 games before the playoffs so what FW did was well within the rules.
3) Don't try and play the games of Fort Wayne being over the cap and not thinking Port Huron is doing the exact same thing. Want proof? Well, show me proof that the Komets are over the cap. That's right, nobody has the proof but we all know that Muskegon, FW and Port Huron are over the cap.
4) Yes, EVERY team has idiotic fans, being both disrespectful to the visiting fans and the visiting team. I happen to remember game 6 from the 2007-2008 playoffs where the "rowdies" threw trash on the ice at the Komets players after the Komets won game 6. The "rowdies" too then threw trash at Komets fans after the game and were talking disrespectful (and these Komets fan never said a d*mn thing). They even tried to get some young women over to fight them. We can talk back and forth all day about home teams fans being disrespectful and everyones experience with them. FW has them, Flint has them...every team!

hes a hack, and its not the first time hes pulled some sort of shenanigan to take the momentum away from the opposition...
that and roger should have gotten a misconduct for hauling Rouleau to the ice AFTER drouin got the hooking call....

OK, so you'd rather not have had the 5 on 3 then? Remember, a misconduct does not change the number of players on the ice, so if he got the 10, we wouldn't have gotten the 2 man advantage. Getting the 5 on 3 is WAY better than keeping Rodger off the ice for 10 minutes.
