It's up to Ernie and Shane to realize that they just can't coach at this level and give the job to a more experienced individual, will it happen though with the Hicke's owning the team? IDK...
If your the new coach i think you have to keep some of the bright spots, Adam Frank, Ryan Green, Taylor Pickering, Shane Halaas...and replace the kids that just can't do it with some younger, hungrier players. It really can't hurt to try out some young kids at this point, you've got nothing to lose.

not sure if theyd have what it takes to say, "we not getting the job done, lets bring in someone who can"...
i only 'heard' Shane a couple of times at events and he sure seems pretty sure of himself. i dont know what kind of experience he has...
Ernie, ive heard him talk a bit at the events and he seems to talk a good game. does narcissism go along with nepotism?
ive HEARD that they dont really work on drills or plays at the practices, but rather have more like conditioning and scrimmages. i dont know because i dont go to the practices...

The problem is the coaching staff is not doing what needs to be done. Mcpherson kid is related to the lady owner and is calling mommy telling her what line he wants to be on. This kid is the worst player in the league. His teammates don't respect him and they all know he is a bad player. If they have to keep him on the team he should sit mote games then he is playing and he should be a fourth line when he does play. Same thing goes for the fernades kid. I know dad owns the rink but come on these kids are hurting the team and the real players morale.

Randy Fernandez is the McMorran General Manager. "the rink" is owned by the city of Port Huron...
regardless, Mitchell has only played one game that ive seen...
i thought it was Adam Frank's mom that owned the team. i dunno...

Definitely McPherson's mom. The Frank kid can play - doesn't need someone to buy him a team to play on. Agree with hockeynut, demoralizing for the kids with talent to see #13 on the ice all the time and get PP shifts - he's BRUUUUUTAL. At least the Fernandez kid put in his time on the practice squad and earned his ice time - mommy's boy just got it handed to him. Fernandez is much better.
Heard they were bringing in a bunch more new skaters and goalies this week - probably cuts coming too - hopefully making the right moves. Score this past weekend against Motor City was much better than the two embarrassing losses @ McMorran - hopefully a sign of improvement.

Not going to happen with these moron coaches. Today they cut lewis one of the top forwards on the team. I heard Green wants to be traded. This is a joke. Sorry Adam frank is related or friends of someone. He is a forth liner on any team. If you watch him he has no idea where to be in the ice and he plays all pp. To top it off these coaches just don't get it. They spent the day over at the cshl tournament looking for more tier 3 players. This is not tier 3 and they can not figure it out. They also worry so much about the little off ice crap instead of focusing on hockey and practice. The owner should be ashamed of her self letting this happen. I hope everone boycotts hat trick hockey.

Morons morons morons morons and any players in the team related to or friends of the family should be ashamed of them self taking ice time from the real players. You owners are a disgrace to the nahl and what it represents.

"Today they cut lewis one of the top forwards on the team." Lewis: 5 games played, zero points, -6, 19 PIM, 5 shots. Also, did quick math, and he was on the ice for 15 of the 41 goals scored against us when he played - he was supposed to be the great PK player. HOW DO YOU FIGURE HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST FORWARDS ON THE TEAM? He's in his thrid year of juniors, on a bad team, and can't crack the lineup most games? I've seen him play and wasn't overly imporessed - coaches see him every day @ practice and off the ice...
"I heard Green wants to be traded." Why would he want to be traded? He's the captain, and plays literally every other shift...
You're losing credibilty with me Hockeynut.

Your looking at the stats which are wrong and some need to be changed. Lewis had 1 point while only playing 5 on 5 hockey no powerplay. Cracking the line up, he had to sit out for the show case for 3 games for an off ice reason I heard and recently for a hand injury that happen in a fight. You cant look at plus and minus on this team. Look at the players who can play. If you are out there with players who dont belong then you are always playing short. As far as the PK look at the Defense and Goalies, if you watch the games then you would know that when both your defensemen chase the puck behind the net and leave players wide open. They are Puck Magnets things you tell mites not to do.
As far as Green goes, like I said RUMOR is... Weeks ago before this melt down the coaches had a meeting with about being traded becasue a team was interested. At that point he said no, but now he might be changing his tune.
Plus if you really want to know which players belong, dont take my word for it or even the coaches grab Green and ask him he will tell you who should be there and who shouldn't. As far as playing every other shift - Green is a last year player and every player knows that on a losing team your not going to get the college looks you might on a team that is competitive in the league.
Why dont the coaches go out and trade a Tender for next year or draft choices to salvage this year. They could get 2 solid Defense maybe find a top goalie somewhere. No they would rather pick up more kids that have no experience and not the skill required at this level. ALso you have to have team chemistry- if the good players are losing ice time to the friends and family players there is no way that is going to happen. Chemistry is important they have none.

I agree - you can't only look at stats, but I've been to most of the games and based on what I've seen, I can't say Lewis was one of the top forwards - just questioning what you based that opinion on. He wasn't scoring, wasn't setting guys up, wasn't killing penalties very well - so what was he "one of the best" at? Several guys with more talent and smarts than him. With him being in his final year of elegibility, he needs to be 1st or 2nd line to keep him - otherwise, all things being equal, keep a younger guy and hope he develops for the future.
As far as Green, from what I've heard, he's a great kid with positive attitude and good leadership. There will be plenty of scouts at all the games watching the other teams we play - he'll get his looks. I'm sure many of the guys are frustrated with all the losing, but being on a losing team doesn't mean you aren't scouted and won't get college offers - as they say, if you're good enough, they'll find you.
Obviously, quite a few guys that don't belong in this league - some are getting released and we're picking up cuts from other NAHL teams - should be an improvement. Unfortunately #13 will never be released, which is too bad, because that would instantly help the team on the ice and off. Unfortunate that Ernie entered into this business realtionship and the lady owner now has him by the short hairs on this kid. Hopefully, his ice time will be reduced??
All that being said, from what I've heard and seen, the chemistry is pretty good - most of the guys get along well and do things together away from the rink. I'm going to stay optimistic for a while longer - still a lot of hockey left in this season.

Your right Green is a Great kid. As far as scouts maybe your D3 schools will be around but the D1 Scouts are going to be a the games that best suit them. Maybe when we are on the road he might get seen.
As far as players we could disagree all day but you can't say he should be playing on the first or second line and did not. These coaches are not smart and then throw in the fact you have to play friends and famiy. This puts the good players losing ice time.
Unitl the friends and family are gone there will be a lack of chemistry between players becasue they will not respect the coach for having to sacrifice losing just to play certain kids.
