As far as I know the Icehawks will be back next year to give it one more try. Drulia is signed for another year and he won't leave Port Huron because his daughter is at Northern High School plus when they came here they had a 3 year plan in place.
So thats just a rumor right now.

Yes The Icehawks Will be back Next Season. Because they sign a 3 year deal at Mcmorran Arena.

I don't think that means squat to the IceHawks after the city screwed with them last year on taking over Mcmorran.

The rumor involving Brighton just gives it no life at all, Brighton doesn't even have 10,000 residents, they couldn't even support an AAHA team if given one, let alone an IHL team.

Brighton has no place to play either.

Isn't Brighton where owner's business is located though.

I don't think Brighton even has a rink that seats over 500 people, do they? Unless I missed something, that is. The possibility would be Compuware arena in Plymouth, but assuming they could even get a lease there, they'd be 2nd fiddle in both fans and home dates to the Whalers.

No specialty jerseys this weekend for Valentine's Day. We are focusing our efforts mainly on the upcoming Star Wars specialty jersey night and the upcoming St. Patrick's day promotions (Guinness jerseys).
We'll do our best to keep everyone posted.

the brighton scenerio has been kicked around.....a new arena would be built but the kinneys really like PH and want to stay...but he can't keep losing a million bucks just because he's a nice guy. the true hockey fans have stepped up to support the Icehawks but the rest of the community hasn't. i'd be surprised to see the team around after next year if the Kinnies don't get the management of the McMorran complex.
