IceRays General Manager/Senior VP, Pat Dunn announces today the signing of rookie netminder Kevin Desfosses (Day fo say). The Beauport, Quebec native will be playing in his first full season as a professional. The IceRays are currently in preparation for the 2009-2010 season. Desfosses who played 9 games for the Port Huron IceHawks of the IHL last season going 6 and 3 with a 2.20 GA and am impressive .922 save percentage before deciding to go back to school and attend McGill University where he played in 8 games going 6 and 2 with a 2.09 GA and a .920 save percentage for the Redmen in the CIS. Prior to last season, Desfosses was a 1st Team All-Star in the QMJHL, and also won the prestigious Memorial Cup trophy for the Quebec Remparts, coached by NHL hall of famer Patrick Roy. After his junior career the 5'11" 180 lbs goaltender attended NHL Ottawa Senators training camp. "This is a huge addition for our team, I truly believe that Kevin has fallen through the cracks and has the potential of playing at the next level" said GM, Pat Dunn.
Desfosses will report to Dallas Stars affiliate, Texas Stars, training camp before attending IceRays training camp scheduled to begin October 5, 2009 at the American Bank Center.
