an awful lot of uninspired hockey on the icehawks part tonight...
not sure what happened to Vernarsky at the end of OT but he was pretty slow getting up when he eventually started to...
Armstrong (from what i was told) tore an ACL when he was helped off the ice...
mr kostadine didnt look like he was very happy after his beat down. from my point of view it looked like he was crying. i know you can be super tough when you fight with a visor (gomez)...

Vernarsky got high sticked pretty bad under the nose and on his cheek. Had to get stitches. As far as Armstrong, I don't think he tore his ACL because he came out on the ice at the end of the game to test whatever he hurt and he was moving decently. If he tore it he wouldn't be able to move because he most likely would've tore his MCL as well.

That's why he was out on the ice testing his mobility I assume.

Well Kostadine lined up with a true heavyweight and really got blasted for his troubles. You knew one of Bloomington's goons were going to tap dance on his face after his hit on Spiller. We were really lucky to get a win last nite against a team that was really injury depleted, and ended up losing 2 more players during the game. The uninspired Hawks showed up last nite and it almost cost us 2 points. They will have to play much better tonite to hold onto second place.

agianst a team that was really injury depleted? Uhh us? half our team is sitting in the stands. We did just fine. It was a interesting finish. It was good to see both coaches going after the refs lol.
ill tell you what I got some respect for Kostadine. That guy has got his a$$ kicked so many times but continues to keep running his mouth. Gomez gave him another woopin but Kost was still flapping his gums after. And ltdave your a fool if you think Gomez is only tough behind a visor. He has to be the toughest guy in the league, i imagine. I wish we could of got him cause he can play to. That goal he got was a good one.

Personally I thought the Hawks looked very flat last night also, as to be expected with half our lineup out on IR. First 2 periods were a yawner. Konstadine would have done much better in the fight had he seen it coming. He was skating across the blue line watching the play and Gomez was bearing down on him dropping his gloves on the way in. A real chicken-sh*t move I think. As tough as Gomez is he should not have to try to blind-side anyone. From an officiating standpoint...wow, where do I start? Hawthorn totally SUCKED last night, as usual. Called some very weak penalties (both ways), and missed the blatant ones. Vern gets cross-checked to the ice and high-sticked on the same play, RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM, and no call? I know it was OT, but come on!!! Hawthorn and Langdon are the worst refs in the league IMO. We better get healthy in a hurry, or the playoff picture will be looking very grim. OH, from the WTF department...I got a real laugh out of the PA announcer calling Turner the "defensive player of the game" late in the 3rd. Did he not see how he let the Bloomy forward skate right in, turn him around and score their 3rd goal? That was PATHETIC. I think his jock is still hanging from the scoreboard LOL. He looked TERRIBLE last night, as usual.

Turner as defensive player of the game is a joke, but I don't expect much from our PA guy anyway....
Robin Gomez is a one tough SOB and a good hockey player to boot. Props to Kostadine for getting smoked three or four times by him and still coming out to play a pretty good hockey game.

Kostadine is not a good fighter whatsoever. He also cant play hockey. But he can be comical to watch. He gets some guys so pissed off its great. He drew Gomez into that interference penalty in that fight for blindsiding him. The man can also take a good beating and still be ready to go. The best is when he gets Macmillian going. We should see that on Wednesday again.

apparently the same game that Budda (The uninspired Hawks showed up last nite) and Topshelf (Personally I thought the Hawks looked very flat last night also) were watching...
its easy to be a tough guy when youre wearing a visor. or playing dirty pool. i said the same thing about Krug on muskegon. if i was wearing a peewee cage, ID go against Gomez. or Bigsnake. or Probert....
Armstrong COULD have torn his ACL and not the MCL at the same time. im one of two guys i know in the same situation. i could move quite well for the 2 weeks i went before surgery. regardless i certainly hope he recovers...
