Wow, Schunker have we hit a nerve? You played for Marysville, so you should like rough, tough, goon like hockey. Why are we getting personal? My post didn't call you out Sorry wrong person, however I give you points for being close. You must be referring to my brother who played Goalie for Marysville until last year. And by the way, they didn't play goon hockey. They did play aggressive though, the difference?? They didn't troll looking for fights, they just stepped up when they needed to. Dude it's high school hockey. There is no fighting or you can get suspended from school. So what do you mean "they just stepped up when they needed to?" You say it's alright for high schoolers to fight in a game? I am getting confused

It's nothing to do with being optimistic- it's being realistic.Computer Geek you like to play with the numbers i was simply stating the obvious numbers- 4 points up- 1 game in hand - 5 of 7 games at home -5 of 7 games against teams out of playoff hunt.Port Huron plays teams 5 of 6 in the playoff hunt- It's pretty simple really -FT.Wayne is in pretty good shape to finish ahead i would say-got zero to do with being negative-mostly just a difference of opinion not shared by unrealistic optimism

Look at them now, up until last nights game, they had almost half the country rooting for a team that originally no one thought would get far. How about the American Olympic team that beat the Russians back in Lake Placid. I'm sure people wrote them off as well because they were facing a team that was unstoppable, but you know what they won. They had faith, and the country had faith and they won. Anything can happen. Ft. Wayne could play their worst games of their entire season in these final games. you just never know. Doesn't matter who they are playing. We've seen upsets before, just because a team is in last place, doesn't mean they can't pull out some good hockey out of their system before they pack up for golf. The fact that you are ready to cash in and accept what's in front of us as our best shot just shows what type of fan you are. A dedicated fan doesn't care about realistic numbers. I'm not accepting that we are finishing in 3rd until it's set in stone.

I am getting confused Actually there is fighting. Usually between two rival schools or last game of the year for seniors, emotions run high. It does happen, I would know. My first three years of high school we had early exits and saw it first hand. Most schools don't suspend students from school just games. State has the automatic 1 game and some teams have a 1 or 2 game suspension as well.

Most of the time it's just a shove fest. Senior mostly especially if they are playing their last game. I've seen it before. Not saying it's alright for them to do it. I'm saying that they don't have a guy floating around the rink looking for fights. You were the one that brought up the goon hockey in high school, not I.

I said fighting is not condoned in High School hockey. Coaches don't tap the player on the shoulder and tell him to go fight. There is no room for fighting in High School hockey, that's why I responded the way I did.

Well considering I just finished high school in 2009 and played all four years of high school and I know for a FACT that the rule changed two years ago to a one game suspension. Don't try telling me what the rule is when I've basically studied the rules for four years. And you're right coaches aren't at fault for fighting in high school, players are. To be honest, the state doesn't really care as much as they should, it's really only frowned upon.

You'd be surprised at some of the stuff coaches tell their players. Not just in high school either. I've seen and heard stuff in the younger travel teams. You have it right, there is no room for fighting in high school or college. Those players are the ones moving up in leagues, and guess what, they still don't continue to fight. Usually the ones that do, fight because they have a break down, outside feelings get involved. Ever have a bad day where you carried that emotion with you everywhere. same case. Sports in not just a physical game, it's also mental, the weakest mind can snap from frustration and pressure, even some of the tougher ones as well, just not as often.

A 4 game suspension for a secoond offence. And the rest of the year for a third Offence. Do we have a bet?

Anyways, can we just squash this, this is just pretty much the other thread carried over to this one. It's done and over, now it's time to focus on the last 6 games.
