Wow, down 3-0 already midway thru 1st period. I bet Lovell's picking the crow feathers out of his teeth as we speak, as he guarenteed an Icehawk win tonight in the Times Herald yesterday. LOL. na na, na na na, hey hey hey, .........Pathetic.

Well they certainly have their hands full now. 3 goals to make up to get back in the game.

Those first 5 minutes when the Komets got the goals were a killer. They've really settled down since then, makes me wonder if the Icehawks were just nervous to be in the Jungle for game 7 and it took them a little bit to settle down.
The final 15 minutes were pretty even.

Icehawks outshooting them 9-7......sorry, but it's not just the fault of the defense. And I'm a goalie myself, usually the first to stick up for them. But, c'mon, if I can't stop at least 6 out of 7 shots - I don't care if God is shooting and Jesus is crashing the net - I need to get pulled. Normally, he should stop a MINIMUM of 9 out of 10, but I'd give the benefit of the doubt about defensive lapses at 6 of 7 - can't do it when you stop 4 of 7. That's worse than your save percentage should be in a shootout........with NO other players on the ice. Can't totally fault the defense here.
I watched D'Orso closely in Saturday's game......he was just plain slow. He made a few DECENT saves, but nothing any goalie that knows his angles wouldn't make. The only spectacular save by a PH goalie was made by Larry before he left the game. Larry was sitting across the aisle from me after he came out - he looked like s^%t. Don't know what the look was for, but after the 3rd goal (2nd D'Orso let in....and again after the weak shot from 35 ft. out that hit the post) Tab was just staring at Larry. I don't know if he was thinking Larry should be in there, or if he was just thinking "really? This is what this kid brings to the table?" I think the look meant he was thinking the latter, but not one of the guys looked the least bit confident when the puck entered our zone. I wish the kid the best - maybe he was just shaken up, having been thrown to the wolves - but this display was not a very good example of playoff goaltending. I hope with all my heart he turns around and stands on his head the rest of the game and we figure out a way to get 4 by Boucher.

It's kind of ironic that the hardest check we threw in this series was to our own goalie.

It's funny how I don't see anyone harping on the Offense. Yeah we are out shooting them, but we are doing nothing but making Boucher look good because we can't get something around him. Why not try and set up some plays and cycle the puck to draw him out of position?? Can't even try to win a game without scoring some goals.

Port Huron had a 2 on 1 break in the fisrt period that Boucher stopped amazingly. Other then that, I agree with computerjunkie.
It looks like that 3 goal spur was a case of game 7 road game nerves. It's still 3-0, but Port Huron is looking a lot better.

are we all just going to whine at each other in here? Who CARES? It's a minor league hockey team, it was fun to watch during the season, but it's over. Time to move on. I sincerely hope we have pro hockey back in PH next year, but I let this season go when Leo scored with 2 seconds left. Maybe we'll have the miracle comeback of all comebacks, but that's a pipe dream. Let's just hope hockey returns next year and maybe we get a team with a little more grit to provide some entertainment value.

It kinda sets things off when ur defense/goalie sets you back 3 goals in the first 6 minutes of the hockey game.

Also this is a great way to end Jamie Lovell's awful season. After flapping his gums in the paper, making guarantees that we are going to beat a team that has just tied the series back up and giving them more ammunition to kick our ass tonight we go out and are probably going to get shut out. Hopefully we'll never have to see this guy play again
