What is the best option for the Port Huron Icehawks at this juncture?

The CHL idea easily we can still stay on track with what we have done so far by bringing back some of our familiar players back. I think people will take the team more serious to in a less beer leaguish league. It would be awesome to get the Hawks in the CHL. Travel costs arent an issue the way they will set this up is split in divisions and we would barely have to travel down south if at all.

Plus I think the M. Mavericks play in the same arena that the River Otters played in when they were in the UHL. I could see maybe Tulsa playing some of the IHL teams. The RiverKings wouldn't be to bad of a road trip for the Hawks either.

From what I've been reading the last couple days I'm not so sure we will have hockey in Port Huron next season. Things just aren't adding up right.

I'm not to sure I'm ready believe all the stuff they are saying about Flint and PH not making it to CHL.(although it could very well be true) Like somone said on into the boards forum it would be an awful shame if they decide to pack it in after all these years being in a unstable league, and then they finally get a chance to be in a strong stable league and they're gone.

Nobody really knows if they have the CHL will even allow Port Huron to come into the league. I mean our attendance is FAR below par for that league. Sure we have an owner with lots of money but from whats been going around he isn't so committed to here anymore. The Icehawks seriously need a spokesperson to let us know whats going on. Fans are getting sick of being left to figure out things themselves. Its minor league hockey its not top secrete information, let us know what the plans are and whats going on.

Yeah the CHL might not want a team that only gets 1600 fans on a regular basis, but I would hope they would at least give PH one season to prove they could get better support. I remember there was talk about making McMorran bigger with regulation ice. I think that would go a long way as far as flow and less whistles.

I think Kinney's personal problems (divorce) may be to much for him to overcome. If his wife's name is included as part of the ownership we can forget about the Icehawks for good. Besides, isn't it kind of funny that Port Huron 's name is never included in the teams that are moving to the CHL. If for some reason Kinney is coming back, he needs a very strong sales team over the summer to sell season and game packages. He needs a group that is willing to hit the streets running and push this team all through St. Clair County... NOT JUST PORT HURON. They need to have a presence in everything that is going on in St. Clair County... Show up at every event with a booth a few players and pitch this team to the community. It needs strong sales people - not interns to promote this team!

More worried about future of Mcmorran. So far since Kinney groups attempt at managing we have had an unsuccessful concert, may lose another hockey team, and now lost the pageant. How is this helping the city of Port Huron ? Who picks up the burden if this whole thing fails ?

which Kinney? the old man or his son? just curious... Frank isn't Larry's Son. Larry's kids aren't old enough to be married.
