Probably just haven't taken it down yet. When a business closes up shop, the last thing on the priority list is the website. Give it time, I'm sure it will come down.

well for someone (the company) who was crying the blues about losing 3 MILLION DOLLARS, i think they would have ended the WEBSITE and saved the monthly fees...
granted the couple of hundred dollars is peanuts to a company of that size but still...

Usually those are yearly fees you pay your year up front. And not once did I hear the Kinneys "cry" about losing 3 Mill. They pretty much said it like it was chump change. Shoot if I lost 30 dollars id be crying the blues

The other thing too is they haven't officially said that the Icehawks are completely finished. They just said there will be no team for the 2010-11 season. Maybe they may have hopes of bringing it back, I don't know, but that is what was said. And yes, those website fees, are paid by the year for the most part.

Its done man put a dagger in it, let the dead dog lye whatever you wanna say. Port Huron cannot support pro hockey it will not change unless a new arena is built and the economy gets back on track.

im not buying into the 'need a new arena' business...
the fact that port huron can NOT fill the barn we have now is the issue...
the economy stinks and i dont care what ive ever read about port huron being a 'hockey town' because its not. they have a big minor program and they host PART of the silversticks. then everyone leaves town...

The only team to fail not at the hands of the town were the Bordercats, mainly because the owner spent his money too fast and forced himself to close up shop, then again, it's because he wasn't given the chance to take McMorran and make something from it. Had the city approved that when it happened, who knows what we would be seeing, perhaps the BC's would have still been around. Looking at his current venture, it's clear to see he would have probably been successful at Managing McMorran considering he's operating the Elmira Jackals in the ECHL with a nice arena. Blame it on the old McMorran Board at that time.
