while im aware this wasnt the albatross that we needed off our back but it WAS the first win ive experienced in our barn since last spring when the Icehawks were in the playoffs...
i thought we were going to give it away in the 3rd with 2 goals to tie it up in 17 seconds...
i have more comments but ill leave them in the Roster Moves thread...
Good Job guys and to Maribeth (if she reads this) thanks for getting a REAL coach...

Congrats also to the team for their first road win today. I have to say after going to a few games, this seems to be a decent jr league. I would say the level of play is just as good and about on par with the GOHL that Chatham and Sarnia play in. Motor City was making some pretty passing plays at times.
Just a shame PH doesn't have at least a dozen or more wins by now, because I bet the crowds would be a bit better. Looks like they are heading in the right direction though esp since they will be picking first in every round of the upcoming draft.

nothing scientific because i dont feel like going through all of the game sheets for the season so far but there were around 1330 for the first game, down to 950 something at game 2 and by game 3 they were pulling between 420 and 520 per game...
up until the first official Bill Warren game all we had gotten was the mid 400s to mid 500s. the first official BW game had over 750 (maybe as high as 900?)...
a few wins would definitely attract a few of them back...

Wow 750 or higher is pretty good considering how bad the team is. I know there was a bit of a buzz again after they gutted the team and brought in BW. Be interesting to see what happens if they can string together a few more wins.
I see Motor city only gets about 500 and they're the highest scoring team in the league. Course then again that's about all they can fit into their small rink.

Anything over 500 is pretty good for this level of jr hockey. I visit my cousins in Chatham every year over the holidays and catch a few GOHL Maroons games and that's about spot on what they average 600-700, and that team has been around forever. I'll have to check out some games in motor city, esp if they make the playoffs.
